Outbound activities in the Greater China region

The GCLAC visits cities in the Greater China region every year and organises a wide variety of activities, such as legal forums, seminars, courtesy visits and exhibitions, etc., to promote Hong Kong legal services and strengthen the exchange and cooperation among different lawyers associations.

In recent years, to keep abreast of the trends of economic development and to grasp relevant opportunities, the GCLAC proactively encourages the legal industry to participate in projects in relation to the "Belt and Road" initiative and the development of the Greater Bay Area. The GCLAC also attaches great importance to the training of lawyers and the sharing of professional knowledge. In addition to being invited to give legal talks in events and teach at law schools, members of the Committee have also held a number of risk management education seminars for lawyers in Chongqing, Chengdu, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Dongguan and Kaohsiung.

Receiving delegations

Every year, various delegations from the Greater China region visit the Law Society of Hong Kong. They include visitors from justice departments, courts, government departments, lawyers associations, legal organisations, business organisations, law schools and law students from different provinces and cities. The GCLAC receive these delegations on behalf of the Law Society sharing information about Hong Kong's legal system, and discussing future co-operation opportunities. In 2020, under the pandemic, the Law Society and its mainland counterparts continue to exchange through virtual meetings and events.
