The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

Jointly organised by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and the China Business Executives Academy of Dalian, a thematic workshop entitled “Advancing the High-quality Development of State-owned Enterprises in Internationalising Business Operations” (“Workshop”) would be held from 10 to 24 June 2025 in Dalian, Mainland China, targeting individuals responsible for international business operations within the state-owned enterprises.
Council Member of the Law Society of Hong Kong Mr Vincent Tso was invited as one of the guest speakers at the Workshop on 17 June 2025. He highlighted the key considerations for state-owned enterprises (“SOEs”) when drafting business contracts for international ventures, as well as the advantages of integrating Hong Kong’s common law system with foreign legal systems.
In addition to explaining the role of Hong Kong lawyers during the process of SOEs expanding overseas, Mr Tso also shared the Law Society’s work in supporting Mainland enterprises in their global ventures, as well as our proactive efforts to foster cross-border collaborations.
