The Law Society of Hong Kong regularly receives delegations formed by Mainland officials, providing an insightful overview of Hong Kong’s legal profession.
On June 2, Council Member and Vice-Chairman of the Greater China Legal Affairs Committee (“GCLAC”) Mr Neville Cheng, and Council Member and Vice-Chairlady of the GCLAC Ms Heidi Chui warmly welcomed a delegation of 21 Mainland officials and judicial personnel currently pursuing Master of Laws (LLM) degrees in Common Law at The University of Hong Kong and The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
In addition to providing an overview of Hong Kong’s legal profession, the meeting addressed several key topics, including self-regulation of the legal profession, the Law Society’s role as the regulator, as well as the pathways and qualifications required to become a solicitor in Hong Kong.
