The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

Hosted by the Law Society, the Eighth Joint Meeting for Lawyers Associations in the Greater Bay Area was held on 7 August 2021 virtually. Representatives of the Law Society included Ms. Melissa Pang, then President; Mr. C. M. Chan, then-Vice-President and Chairman of the Greater China Legal Affairs Committee; Mr. Thomas So, Past President and Chairman of the Greater Bay Area Sub-committee; Mr. James Wong and Mr. Neville Cheng, Vice-Chairmen of the Greater China Legal Affairs Committee; and Ms. Heidi Chu, Secretary-General of the Law Society.
At the meeting, representatives from Guangdong Province, Hong Kong and Macau exchanged views on various event proposals, the experience of respective secretariats, as well as the arrangements after the GBA Legal Professional Examination, including, in particular, the post-examination training and practice opportunities in the nine cities.
