The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Guangdong Federation of Industry & Commerce jointly organised a webinar on “Practicalities for Handling Dispute Resolution and Risk Management by Hong Kong’s Professional Services” on 28 September, 2020. Mr. C.M. Chan, Vice President of the Law Society and Chairman of the Greater China Legal Affairs Committee, was invited to explain how Hong Kong’s legal profession can assist Mainland companies in cross-border businesses, overseas commercial disputes and make good use of LawTech in dispute resolutions under the new economic norm.
