The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

At the invitation of the Fujian Cultural and Economic Exchange Centre, the Law Society has jointly organised the Straits Law Forum with a number of academic and professional bodies since 2003 to promote legal exchanges among the mainland, Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong. In 2020, the forum was held in Fuzhou on 18 August under the theme "Application of Civil Code". At the opening ceremony, a speech prepared by President Ms. Melissa Pang was read by a forum representative. Meanwhile, Immediate Past President Thomas So and Council member Karen Lam attended the online forum on behalf of the Law Society.
