In 2019, the Law Society and the Peking University Law School (“the Law School”) joined hands in organising a 32-hour course under the title “An Introduction to Legal Services and Risk Management for Cross-border Transactions” for students of the Law School.

In view of the course’s popularity, the Law Society organised the course with the Law School in May and June again in 2020, and conducted it in a distance learning mode. To enhance students’ awareness on anti-money laundering and anti-bribery, introduction to commercial crimes was introduced this year.

The course consisted of 8 classes, 6 of which were completed in May. Lecturers included Vice-President Mr. C.M. Chan, Council members Ms. Careen Wong and Mr. Christopher Yu, Past President Mr. Ambrose Lam, former Council Member Mrs. Cecilia Wong, Greater China Legal Affairs Committee member Ms. Catherine Mun; as well as member of the Interest Group on Mergers and Acquisitions Mr. Chin Yeoh, while Mr. Nick Chan, former Council member, Ms. Heidi Chui, member of the Standing Committee on Standards and Development, and Mr. Henry Wai, Vice-Chairman of the Greater China Legal Affairs Committee conducted the June lectures.
