The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

On 20 December 2024, Vice-President Careen Wong attended the “New Quality Rule of Law Forum” in Panyu, Guangzhou. The event was organised by Guangzhou Lawyers Association with an aim to facilitate enterprises going global.
During the forum, Vice-President Careen Wong delivered a speech entitled “The Active Roles of Hong Kong Lawyers in Supporting Mainland Companies Going Global” at a roundtable session. The session provided a platform for lawyers from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao to discuss the supply and demand of new energy vehicles going global.
Vice-President Careen Wong underlined Hong Kong’s unique position as the only common law jurisdiction in China and the only bilingual common law system in the world.
