The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

On 1 March 2024, the Department of Justice (“DoJ”) announced the establishment of the Advisory Group of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Lawyers (“Advisory Group”), chaired by the Deputy Secretary for Justice Horace Cheung. Several members of the Law Society were appointed to the Advisory Group.
An exchange session on legal practice in the GBA was held after the announcement. Representatives from the Law Society included Council Member and Vice-Chairman of Greater China Legal Affairs Committee (“GCLAC”) Neville Cheng, Council Member and GCLAC Vice-Chairlady Heidi Chui, GCLAC Members William Ling and Eviana Leung, as well as Mr Wilfred Tsui, a member of the GBA Lawyers Sub Committee. Additionally, a number of members of the Law Society participated in the exchange session in their personal capacities.
