The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

On 8 November, Representatives from the Law Society including President C. M. Chan, Vice-President and Chairman of the Greater China Legal Affairs Committee (“GCLAC”) Roden Tong, Council Members and GCLAC Vice-Chairman Neville Cheng and Heidi Chui, as well as GCLAC Members William Ling, Natalia Cheung and Anthony Poon received a delegation of 22 members led by the President of Hainan Lawyers Association Ms Fu Qiongfen.
Aside from expressing strong interest in collaborating with Hong Kong lawyers on foreign-related matters, the delegation was particularly interested in learning more about professional indemnity insurance for Hong Kong lawyers.
