The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

On 7 November, President C. M. Chan moderated a session themed “Legal Safeguards for High-Quality Development under the Belt and Road Initiative” at the Legal Forum on Interconnectivity and Development, which was part of the Department of Justice’s Hong Kong Legal Week 2023.
After the forum, President C. M. Chan took part in the cultural events arranged by the Department of Justice for guests of the Hong Kong Legal Week 2023, which included a visit to the Hong Kong Palace Museum and a dinner reception.
