The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

On 24 October, the Law Society’s Vice-President and Chairman of the Greater China Legal Affairs Committee (“GCLAC”) Roden Tong, Council Member and GCLAC Vice-Chairman Neville Cheng, as well as Council Member and GCLAC Member Heidi Chui received a delegation from Guangdong Lawyers Association (“GDLA”) to explore how to deepen the collaboration between the Law Society and GDLA.
Counterparts from GDLA introduced their intended research on regulations in Guangdong Province to promote collaborations among lawyers in the GBA. Both sides discussed relevant issues to enhance mutual understanding and further cooperation.
Law Society and Guangdong Lawyers Association hoped to develop more contacts in the future.
