The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

On 18 October, representatives of the Law Society attended an exchange session chaired by the Deputy Secretary for Justice Horace Cheung on Cross-Boundary Insolvency between Hong Kong and the Mainland; and between Hong Kong and other jurisdictions.
Representatives from the Law Society who attended the session included Vice-President and Chairman of the Greater China Legal Affairs Committee (“GCLAC”) Roden Tong, Council Member and GCLAC Member Careen Wong, Council Member and Vice-Chairman of GCLAC Neville Cheng, Chairman of the Insolvency Law Committee Keith Ho, as well as Members of the Insolvency Law Committee Alexander Tang and Edmund Ma.
Participants achieved a fruitful discussion on cross-boundary insolvency.
