The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

On 7 September, Council Member and Greater China Legal Affairs Committee (“GCLAC” ) Vice-Chairman Neville Cheng as well as Council Member and GCLAC Member Careen Wong received a delegation comprising 22 lawyers from Wuxi led by Mr Chen Yiping, Vice-President of Wuxi Lawyers Association.
At the meeting, the two parties gave an overview of the legal professions in the two places. Counterparts from Wuxi were interested in setting up law firms and registering as foreign lawyers in Hong Kong.
