The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

To provide a platform for experienced practitioners and young lawyers from the Mainland and Hong Kong to exchange and share insights, the Law Society organised a virtual roundtable meeting, themed “Experience Sharing on the Implementation of Mutual Legal Assistance between the Mainland and Hong Kong on Cross-border Dispute Resolution”, with the Guangdong Lawyers Association on 25 March 2023 via Zoom. President of the Law Society C. M. Chan and Vice-President of Guangdong Lawyers Association Chen Fang delivered welcome speeches at the beginning of the meeting. Speakers from the Law Society, the Guangdong Lawyers Association and the Department of Justice shared their experiences on Mainland Judgments in Civil and Commercial Matters (Reciprocal Enforcement) Ordinance, including highlights of landmark cases and difficulties faced in practice.
