The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

Co-hosted by the Institute for One Country, Two Systems of Renmin University of China and the Institute of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Development Studies of Sun Yat-sen University, the academic webinar on “Legal Practice and Cross-border Legal Services in the GBA” concluded successfully on 24 September 2022. The event attracted more than 100 attendees.
President C. M. Chan was invited to deliver a keynote speech at the event. He pointed out that the GBA Legal Professional Examination caters for the needs of Hong Kong legal professionals when handling cross-border legal issues and broadens the scope of their professional legal practice. With full confidence in the system’s prospect, he believed that the development of the GBA has brought unprecedented opportunities for lawyers in Hong Kong.
President C. M. Chan encouraged the legal profession to seize the opportunities brought about by the development of the Greater Bay Area.
