The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

The “Laws in the Greater Bay Area” Seminar Series is one of the initiatives under the Joint Meeting System for Lawyers Associations in the Greater Bay Area to promote professional and practical exchanges among legal professionals from the three regions. Focusing on arbitration, the third seminar was held on 7 May 2022 in hybrid format.
President C. M. Chan delivered a welcome speech, while Mr. Daniel Leung, member of the Greater China Legal Affairs Committee, joined representatives from Guangdong Province and Macau in explaining the respective legal definitions and boundaries of reviewing, setting aside and refusal of arbitral awards, as well as the similarities and differences of ruling principles between local and non-local verdicts. The event was hosted by the Dongguan Lawyers Association and attracted close to 250 participants from the three regions.
