The 11th Cross Strait Four Regions Young Lawyers Forum (the “Forum”) concluded successfully under the theme “Scaling New Heights – Promoting Exchanges and Creating Cooperation Opportunities” on 29 October in the form of webinar. The event attracted more than 600 registrations from the Mainland, Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong.
The Forum is an annual flagship event organised by the Law Society. In light of the development of the Greater Bay Area (“GBA”), Mr. Fang Jianming, Deputy Commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, was invited to speak at a thematic presentation on the policies and prospects of the GBA.
This year’s Main Forum focused on how lawyers from the four regions can seek breakthrough development through exchanges and actively participate in the country’s development plans. In addition, legal elites from the four regions were invited to share their insights in the three sessions under the Forum. Discussion topics included “Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership”, “Special Purpose Acquisition Company and Limited Partnership Funds” and “Dispute Resolution”. This year’s Forum also featured a free-flow exchange session, focusing on the GBA, Qianhai and Hengqin Cooperation Zones, as well as innovation and technology development.
Mr. Fang Jianming, Deputy Commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, gave a speech at the event.
Presidents of All China Lawyers Association, Taiwan Bar Association, Macau Lawyers Association and the Law Society of Hong Kong gave speeches at the event.
The Law Society hosted the online Presidents’Roundtable on the day before.
