The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

The Law Society has jointly organised the Straits Law Forum with a number of academic and professional bodies since 2003 to promote legal exchanges among the Mainland, Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong. This year, the forum was held in Fuzhou on 18 August under the theme "Theory and Practice of Administrative Law Enforcement". Invited by the organising committee of the forum, then-President Ms. Melissa Pang gave a congratulatory message for the Forum through a pre-recorded video, which was played at the event’s opening ceremony.
