The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

Jointly organised by the Department of Justice of the Government of the HKSAR and the Law Society, the “Success through Synergy” seminar on opportunities for Hong Kong’s legal industry in the Greater Bay Area was held successfully on 13 August 2021. Invest Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association Legal Affairs Steering Committee were invited as the promotion partners, with more than 20 organisations from the legal and business sectors joining as supporting organisations of the seminar.
The Secretary for Justice, Ms Teresa Cheng, SC, gave opening remarks at the event. At the two panel discussions under the themes “Opportunities for Hong Kong’s legal industry brought by the Greater Bay Area” and “Realizing synergies in the Greater Bay Area”, senior legal practitioners, as well as experts from the business fields were invited to share their insights. Mr. C. M. Chan, then-Vice-President and Chairman of the Greater China Legal Affairs Committee, served as the moderator of the second panel.
It was encouraging to see that the hybrid seminar attracted more than 500 registrations from different countries and regions, and has attracted more than 31,000 views on various media platforms.
