The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

The CIETAC Hong Kong Arbitration Center and the International Dispute Resolution Academy jointly organised an online roundtable meeting on 22 February under the title “2021 Interpreting Hong Kong Contract Law Online Roundtable Meeting Series – Part 1: General Principles of Hong Kong Contract Law”. At the conference, guest speakers cited various cases and discussed legal principles, such as the freedom of contracts and the binding force of agreements. Mr. C.M. Chan, Vice-President of the Law Society and Chairman of the Greater China Legal Affairs Committee was invited to deliver a closing speech for the event.
