The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

To establish standards and rules for the regulation of professional practice, conduct and practice management and in doing so:

To prepare, keep under review and issue a Solicitors Guide covering all of the above. |

To set education and training standards for the profession covering:

To formulate LS policy on handling requests from issues of ethics or conduct; and to respond to such requests where appropriate. |

To recommend policy and arrangements for pricing any LS publications or services arising out of the above. |

To determine applications for review made pursuant to Rule 9 of the Overseas Lawyers (Qualification for Admission) Rules. |
