In response to the application for judicial review by Mr. Ng Wing-hung, a partner of Messrs. The Intervention Agent has also issued letters to notify former clients of the Intervened Firm to collect the title deeds and documents relating to their properties within 2 months from the date of the notification letter for security purposes and their own protection, failing which a sum of HK$30 will be levied per month or part thereof (calculated from the date of the notification letter) being additional logistics and warehouse fees incurred due to their failure to collect their title deeds and documents within the stipulated time. The said fees will constitute a lien on the relevant title deeds until the said fees are fully settled. Please also note that if former clients of the Intervened Firm fail to collect the title deeds and documents relating to their properties within 2 months from the date of the notification letter, the Law Society of Hong Kong would not be responsible for any losses and/or damages arising out of any loss or damage of the relevant title deeds and documents stored at the warehouse.
The Intervention Agent is currently verifying the claims received on or after 7 July 2021, and will in due course submit a 2nd court application for approval to distribute money to those claimants whose claims have been verified.
