They provided an update on Hong Kong’s recent development, including but not limited to the policy measures set out in the Chief Executive’s 2023 Policy Address concerning the establishment the Hong Kong International Legal Talents Training Academy, which would be a hub and platform for legal professionals from both common and civil law jurisdictions to conduct professional exchanges.

The delegation also met with the Italian National Bar Council and the UIA to explore cooperation opportunities. Apart from giving an overview on the Law Society and the legal profession in Hong Kong, they took the opportunity to explain the principle of “One Country, Two Systems”, independence of judiciary and rule of law education.

The President and Vice-President shared their valuable insights on the impact of AI to the legal profession and diversity and inclusion for lawyers respectively with the conference participants.
