Under the theme of “The Next Normal Law Firms”, the 32nd Presidents of Law Associations in Asia (“POLA”) Conference was successfully held from 21 to 23 September 2022 in Singapore. Vice-President Mr Amirali Nasir and Immediate Past President Ms Melissa Pang (in her capacity as the LAWASIA President) attended the Conference physically, which was the first outbound trip attended by the Law Society Office Bearers since January 2020. 

POLA provides a valuable platform for law society and bar association leaders from across Asia-Pacific region to exchange thoughts on topical issues and facilitate regional cooperation. Riding on this occasion, fruitful meetings to renew friendship and discuss possible future collaboration were arranged with various overseas lawyers’ associations and international legal organisations, including the International Bar Association, Integrated Bar of the Philippines, Inter-Pacific Bar Association, Korean Bar Association, Law Council of Australia, the Law Society of Singapore, Malaysian Bar and New Zealand Law Society.

Vice-President Mr Amirali Nasir and Immediate Past President Ms Melissa Pang met with the head delegates from various lawyers’ associations at the 32nd POLA Conference. 

Mr Nasir and Ms Pang were invited to share their insightful opinions on mental wellness and the post-pandemic issues faced by law firms respectively.
