The Law Society devotes much effort to creating international exchange opportunities for our members. This enables them to gain international exposure, extend worldwide connections and maintain continuous professional development. Over the years, the Law Society has established extensive connections with lawyers’ associations and legal organisations in different overseas jurisdictions, laying a good foundation for future collaboration for members’ benefit.

To strengthen exchanges between the Law Society and overseas lawyers’ associations amidst the pandemic, a joint webinar series covering a wide spectrum of topics have been successfully held from March to December 2021 with the Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) counterparts from Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany and Malaysia. In view of the positive feedback, the Law Society has joined hands with our MOU counterparts from Spain, Georgia, the USA, Italy, the Czech Republic and France for another series of joint webinars in 2022.

The second webinar series started with the Madrid Bar Association on 9 March 2022. Under the theme “Doing Business in Hong Kong and Spain”, speakers from Hong Kong and Spain provided an overview of the business environments in both jurisdictions and highlighted the respective market advantages. The webinar was well received by over 140 members from the two associations.
