This year's conference will be attended by approximately 50 delegates comprising the Presidents of law associations and their senior staff/Council members from nearly 20 jurisdictions as well as observers from international bodies such as LawAsia, the International Bar Association and the Inter- Pacific Bar Association.
During their stay in Hong Kong delegates will meet with the Chief Justice Hon. Mr. Justice Andrew Li, the acting Secretary for Justice Mr. Bob Allcock and the Secretary for Constitutional Affairs Mr. Stephen Lam. Additionally their discussions will range over a variety of topics including the impact of globalization on the practice of law in Asia, the regulation of professional conduct, legal education and continuing professional development. A morning will be spent at the offices of the Independent Commission Against Corruption to meet the Commissioner Mr. Raymond Wong discussing corruption and related issues in law enforcement.
The conference concludes on Saturday with a visit to Macau hosted by the Macau Lawyers Association.
