Jointly organised by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the 19th Asian Financial Forum (“AFF”) was held on 26–27 January at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Taking this opportunity, the Law Society hosted a booth in the “FutureGreen” exhibition zone — the only booth dedicated to legal services at the Forum. Volunteer solicitors and secretariat introduced to visitors the advantages of Hong Kong’s common law system under the principle of “One Country, Two Systems”, and how this framework positions the city as a “super connector” and “super value-adder” for international fundraising, listings, cross border transactions and dispute resolution.
In addition, two members of the Intellectual Property Committee represented the Law Society in one of the advisory consultative sessions to provide professional advice to start-ups on fundraising, market entry strategies and regulatory matters.

The Law Society will continue to promote the vital role of law in advancing financial development in both the nation and Hong Kong, reinforcing Hong Kong’s position as an international financial centre.
