The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

Memoranda of Understanding with the Asociación Nacional de Abogados de Empresa and the Ho Chi Minh City Bar Association On the occasion of the Ceremonial Opening of the Legal Year in Hong Kong 2026, the Law Society further expanded its global network through new Memoranda of Understanding with the Asociación Nacional de Abogados de Empresa (“ANADE”) and the Ho Chi Minh City Bar Association (“HCBA”), making an important milestone in strengthening these partnerships.
These MOUs build on the Law Society’s continuous efforts to enhance our global connections and professional exchanges through duty visits. The MOU with the HCBA stemmed from the Law Society’s participation in the Secretary for Justice–led delegation to Vietnam and Malaysia in September 2024, during which both sides explored opportunities for cooperation, including the signing of an MOU. Meanwhile, the MOU with ANADE was discussed during our duty visit to Mexico for the 69th UIA Congress last October, where fruitful discussions laid the foundation for deeper engagement.
The signing of these MOUs has formalised the working relationships between the Law Society and these two professional organisations, strengthening cooperation and exchange between Hong Kong’s legal sector and its counterparts in Mexico and Vietnam.
