The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

On 3 December 2025, President Roden Tong, together with Vice-Presidents Amirali Nasir, Christopher Yu and Careen Wong, and Secretary General Wendy Lee, had the privilege of hosting the newly elected President of LAWASIA Mr Yap Teong Liang for a meeting at the Law Society.
President Tong outlined Hong Kong’s robust common law system, comprehensive legal services and the unique distinction between solicitors and barristers, underscoring our role as a leading Asia Pacific hub for international legal and dispute resolution services. In addition to our extensive global network, we maintain strong ties with the Chinese Mainland counterparts, positioning us as a bridge between international and Greater China legal organisation. The Law Society’s self regulatory role and updates on key initiatives both overseas and in Greater China region, young lawyers’ development, pro bono work and rule of law education were also shared.
This meeting highlighted the Law Society’s long-standing and collaborative relationship with the LAWASIA over the years.
