The Young Lawyers Exchange Programme was successfully held from 22 to 23 August 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Led by Council Member and Chairlady of Young Solicitors' Group Hin Han Shum, the 20-person delegation, including Council Member Pak Sun Hau, visited the Palace of Justice, the Asian International Arbitration Centre, and a local law firm to gain insights into the local legal system and practice. They also connected with peers from the Malaysian Bar to share career journeys and professional challenges.

A highlight of the programme was the Malaysia-Hong Kong Young Lawyers Symposium on 23 August, which brought together nearly 100 participants. In his welcome remarks, President Roden Tong reaffirmed our shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of legal professionals through professional development initiatives. The subsequent interactive sessions sparked fruitful exchanges and collaborative dialogue. In addition to comparative legal systems, and sports law and arbitration, participants engaged in discussions on future trends in the legal profession, as well as the importance of wellbeing and diversity, equity and inclusion in fostering a resilient and inclusive legal community.

The Law Society extends its sincere gratitude to the Professional Services Advancement Support Scheme of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region for supporting this programme.

Throughout the programme, young lawyers were encouraged to step forward, proactively broaden their horizons, and leverage their experience and knowledge to strengthen the rule of law.
