The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

Riding on the business delegation led by the Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR to visit Qatar and Kuwait, President Roden Tong took the opportunity to pay reciprocal visits to the Investment and Trade Court of the State of Qatar (“ITC of Qatar”) and the Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (“QICDRC”) on 11 May.
This reciprocal visit plays a positive role in promoting mutual understanding and future cooperation between the two organisations. Hong Kong’s well-established common law system and internationalised legal services underpin its status as the world’s leading international financial centre. Against this background, both courts and the Law Society have great synergy for further collaboration and to learn from each other’s experiences. We extend our gratitude to the courts’ sincere hospitality.
