The Law Society’s young lawyer delegate, Ms Frederica Yeung, attended the 33rd Inter-Pacific Bar Association (“IPBA”) Annual Meeting and Conference in Chicago, the United States, from 23 to 26 April.
The Opening Ceremony featured important speeches with a highlight on the theme “Transformation Everywhere All at Once: Business and Law in a Changing World”. This resonated with the Law Society’s commitment to adapting and excelling in a changing legal landscape – facing profound changes in our profession, lawyers are encouraged and reminded to reflect on the way to communicate and how we deliver our value.
Taking this opportunity, Ms Yeung had informal meetings with the representatives from IPBA and the Tokyo Bar Association respectively, and discussed the importance of lawyers to remain steadfast and optimistic through the legal journey.

Ms Yeung showcased to the Asia-Pacific legal professionals Hong Kong’s trusted common law system and the Law Society’s vital role in regulating our self-governing solicitor profession, through admission to the solicitor’s profession, legal practice as solicitors and discipline for professional misconduct.
