The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

Invited by the Kuwait Bar Association, Past President Melissa Pang, who is currently the Immediate Past President of LAWASIA, attended a seminar jointly organised by the UIA and Kuwait Bar Association, focusing on mediation and energy transition, in Kuwait City, Kuwait, from 14 to 15 April.
Ms Pang shared the benefits of mediation within the “One Country, Two Systems, Three Jurisdictions” framework of the Guangdong-Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area (“GBA”), Hong Kong’s role in the Mainland’s 14th Five-Year Plan, the latest developments in mediation in Hong Kong including the work of the International Organization for Mediation Preparatory Office, and the Hong Kong Government’s latest initiative on the incorporation of mediation clauses in Government contracts.
