The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

At the invitation of the Hong Kong Talent Engage, Immediate Past President C. M. Chan attended “The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (‘GBA’) Talent Development Showcase” in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 12 to 13 April.
During Panel Discussion 1: “9+2 Cities – Synergies for Growth in the GBA” of the symposium, Mr Chan, the only speaker from the legal sector, shared his insights on business and talent development opportunities in Hong Kong and beyond, including the GBA Legal Professional Examination, Hong Kong’s role as a “super-connector” between the global market and the Mainland, and the synergies between Hong Kong and the GBA.

The symposium that Mr Chan spoke at, followed by a career fair, attracted a combined attendance of over 4,000, providing international talent from Southeast Asia with a wide range of career options and opportunities for professional growth.
