The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

Invited by the National Young Lawyers and Pupils Committee of the Malaysian Bar, Ms Hin Han Shum, Council Member and Chair of Young Solicitors’ Group (“YSG”), and Ms Celeste Lo, Member of YSG, participated in the Soirée 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 3 January, representing the Law Society.
The evening featured an insightful lecture on the theme “The Honest Advocate: Cultivating Integrity in Early Legal Careers” by the Federal Court Judge of Malaysia. The thought-provoking discussion underscored the importance of upholding ethical values, professionalism, and honesty at every stage of a legal career.
The engagement with local judges, senior and junior members of the Malaysian Bar, and many talented pupils was a fantastic opportunity to exchange ideas, foster friendships, and deepen ties between the legal communities of Hong Kong and Malaysia.

The event was well-attended by over 200 participants, providing a platform of cross-boundary networking opportunities and sharing for participants ranging from the members of the judiciary and senior practitioners to young lawyers.
