At the invitation of the Consulate-General of Malaysia in Hong Kong, Vice-President Amirali Nasir, who chairs the International Legal Affairs Committee and Islamic Finance Working Party, attended the Global Muslim Business Forum 2023 in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, from 28 to 30 November 2023.

The Forum, themed “Innovations and Transformation in Islamic Economies”, served as a hub of knowledge for governments, corporations and civil society. It has brought together around 1,000 participants from 37 jurisdictions to explore best and innovative practices across various domains such as Islamic finance, green technology and agriculture. The Forum also provided insights into the opportunities and challenges for the global Islamic economy in the upcoming period, and highlighted the latest trends, policy developments and learning experiences in Islamic economies. 

Taking this valuable opportunity, Mr Nasir promoted the latest development in Islamic Finance in Hong Kong such as the Green Sukuk, and the Law Society’s work on this area to the forum participants.
