Vice-President Amirali Nasir and Ms Sharon Tam, who currently serve on the Commonwealth Lawyers Association (“CLA”) Council and Young Commonwealth Lawyers Association (“YCLA”) Committee respectively on behalf of the Law Society, spoke at the YCLA Virtual Conference under the theme of “A Bridge from the Past to the Future of Law Practice” on 8 November 2023.

Mr Nasir, a CLA Council Member and Co-convenor of its Law, Tech and Innovation Committee, spoke on “Transforming the Legal Landscape: The Intersection of Technology and Law in Innovating Legal Practice” from a Hong Kong’s perspective. He emphasised the importance of young lawyers getting well-prepared and equipped with not only deep understanding upon law, yet rapidly advancing technology as well.  

Meanwhile, Ms Tam moderated a session on “Investigating the Legal Mind: Exploring Mental Health Challenges and Well-Being Amongst Lawyers”, engaged in discussion with professionals from the field of psychology on work and stress management, as well as the impact of mental health on one’s performance or even career as a legal practitioner.

The Law Society representatives had insightful discussions on LawTech and mental health with the international participants.
