The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

The International Malaysia Law Conference (“IMLC”) 2023, being the Malaysian Bar’s flagship event, was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 10 to 13 July 2023. Under the theme “Navigating the Present, Exploring the Future”, IMLC 2023 aimed to address the concerns and hurdles legal practitioners face, with the determination to equip them for a rewarding future and to provide a vision for robust growth.
On behalf of the Law Society, Immediate Past President Melissa Pang (also in her capacity as the President of LAWASIA) was invited to attend IMLC 2023 to talk about the opportunities and challenges in the future for dispute resolution and transactional lawyers from a Hong Kong’s perspective alongside other speakers from Malaysia and Singapore.
