The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

Entitled “The New Normal: Employment Law in Asia Pacific in 2023”, the LAWASIA Employment Law Conference co-organised by the LAWASIA and Sabah Law Society was successfully held in Kota Kinabalu (Sabah), Malaysia from 8 to 10 June 2023.
On behalf of the Law Society of Hong Kong, Immediate Past President Melissa Pang (also in her capacity as the President of LAWASIA) delivered the welcome remarks at the Conference opening ceremony, and a keynote address on “Artificial Intelligence, and the New Normal for Employment Law”. Meanwhile, Vice-President Amirali Nasir was invited to share his views and experiences on artificial intelligence, rule of law and the complex issues arising from work-from-home from a Hong Kong perspective.
On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) between the Law Society of Hong Kong and the Sabah Law Society was signed to further strengthen the work relationship of the two law societies which will provide more opportunities for professional exchanges among the respective members. We look forward to working more closely with the counterparts from Malaysia and from around the world.
