Jointly organised by the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative and Bar Human Rights Committee of England & Wales, a virtual dialogue series entitled “The Edge of the Law: A regional approach to confronting key legal challenges” was successfully held from November 2021 to March 2022. Targeting legal practitioners around the world, the series addressed forced labour, sanctions, data security and judicial independence through four dialogues.

Representing the Law Society, President C. M. Chan joined the final dialogue on 2 March 2022 to talk about judicial independence, the rule of law and the role of the legal profession from a Hong Kong perspective. The President also took this opportunity to highlight the Law Society’s role and works on safeguarding the rule of law.
