The recent developments in the Greater Bay Area (“GBA”), such as the GBA Legal Professional Examination and the newly promulgated Qianhai Plan, have opened up vast opportunities for the professional talents. To help legal practitioners, especially those from overseas jurisdictions, gain a clearer understanding of this vital and dynamic region and better prepare for its growth and opportunities, a webinar on GBA development was organised by the Law Society on 16 September with an encouraging participation of over 330 legal practitioners from around the world.
Moderated by President C. M. Chan, the webinar was graced by the presence of three prominent speakers from the Government as well as the business and legal sectors, including Dr Jimmy Chiang, Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion (Business Development Group) of Invest Hong Kong; Mr David Graham, Executive Director of the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong; and Ms Melissa Pang, Immediate Past President of the Law Society. They shared with the participants their valuable views on the GBA development from different perspectives during this webinar.
