As an institutional member of the International Bar Association (“IBA”), Secretary General Heidi Chu was invited to join the speaker panel at the IBA Bar Executive Committee virtual meeting titled “Access to the courts during COVID” on 28 May 2021 on behalf of the Law Society. From a Hong Kong perspective, the Secretary General shared how COVID-19 has affected access to the courts and what the ramifications have been and would be of this to the rule of law, and what our role as bar associations and law societies is in such a situation.
