The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

Representing the Law Society, President Melissa Pang attended the AIJA Women Network webinar themed “Progressing towards partnership” on 31 March 2021. As the only speaker from Asia, President took the opportunity to share her own experiences and views on the structural and societal barriers to women’s progression in the legal sector, and how she overcame them. The webinar attracted over 120 overseas participants from across different regions.
Eminent speakers from various jurisdictions shared their insightful views on how women can progress to partnership.
