The Law Society of Hong Kong is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong vested with statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors, trainee solicitors and foreign lawyers. It was incorporated in 1907 as a company limited by guarantee.

At the invitation of the European Association of Lawyers (“AEA-EAL”), President Melissa Pang attended the webinar on mediation entitled “Mediation: Effective Tool for Commercial Disputes, Singapore Convention” on 28 January 2021 on behalf of the Law Society. As the only speaker from Asia and as a mediator herself, President took this opportunity to share her valuable views and experience on the mediation work in Hong Kong and to showcase Hong Kong as a leading centre for international legal and dispute resolution services. The webinar attracted over 120 overseas participants from 15 jurisdictions.
