(20 May 2013 Hong Kong) – Mr. Ambrose S.K. Lam, the Managing Partner of Lam, Lee & Lai, was elected the new President of the Law Society of Hong Kong (“Law Society”) with effect from 20 May 2013. He will lead the 20-member Council which is the Law Society’s governing body.

Mr. Lam has served on the Council as a member since 2004, out of which two years as Vice President. He currently chairs the Greater China Legal Affairs Committee and the Consents Committee. Throughout his tenure at the Law Society, Mr. Lam has been putting much effort in enhancing cooperation among lawyers from Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau with a view to facilitating the development of the legal service market.

Mr. Lam is also a member of the Bar Issues Commission Policy Committee of the International Bar Association, the largest global organisation for legal professionals around the world. Mr. Lam’s main areas of practice include conveyancing and commercial practices.

Mr. Lam said that he will continue to explore business opportunities for members both locally and internationally.
