President Huen Wong led a Law Society delegation to the 8th China Lawyer Forum in Chengdu on 14 and 15 August 2009. More than 1,000 delegates from the Mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taipei attended the Forum for professional exchange on subjects including the development of law firm and firm management, corporate governance and risk management, labour law, property law and other legal practices in the Mainland.

President Huen Wong was one of the panelists at a sub-forum examining globalization and the internationalisation of legal services. Former President of the Law Society Mr. Peter Lo also delivered a talk on solicitors’ professional indemnity scheme at another sub-forum.

Participation in the Forum proved to be a fruitful experience for members of the Hong Kong delegation.
