The Law Society of Hong Kong is deeply concerned and disturbed by the open defiance of court injunctions by certain quarters of the Hong Kong community.

Whilst we do not intend to go into the legal technicalities of the effects of the court injunctions nor to speculate on the possible sanctions for not complying with the same, we consider that the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary have always been regarded by all Hong Kong people to form the backbone of our society. We have all claimed to be strenuous guardians of such core values.

Any non-compliance with the court orders is seriously threatening our judicial system and undermining our core values
